Contra Costa County:
1919 - 1992
The County purchased Potter's Row, renaming it Potter's Field on August 30th, 1919 from Buel Funk & Helen Muir-Funk for $500 in gold coins. Potter's Field finally becomes organized as a cemetery under the ownership and management of the County. The County however does not hire any staff to oversee it's operations but chooses instead to hire the Alhambra Cemetery staff as needed, (they are paid $50 per burial).
